Diwali Night 2009!!
Diwali Night is one of the biggest cultural shows on campus, with delicious Indian appetizers preceding a show featuring a variety of student groups, from fusion dances and a capella groups, to skits and traditional bharatanatyam.
This year's theme is "Ekta Har Sarhad Paar." It will focus on how the values and themes of Diwali vary across the borders within India, yet are all encompassed within it's national identity; in other words, we hope to present to you Indian culture in terms of its "unity beyond all borders."
It will be held in MP6 at the ARC on Saturday, November 7th at 6 p.m. (Appetizers will be served at 6 p.m., with the show beginning promptly at 7 p.m.)
Tickets will go on sale NOW at the ISA office in the RSO Complex of the Union. The prices will be $10 for members and $12 for non-members- which includes an EPIC show, samosas as big as your head, other various goodies catered by Zyggyz, beverage fountains filled with the most delicious mango lassi you've ever had in your life, as well as a gift from ISA Board.
It really will be an amazing show, different in many ways from the traditions of the past. We've been working really hard to make sure Diwali Night 2009 is a unique experience for all of the attendees, so we hope you decide to come out and enjoy this very special night with all of ISA!!
